It’s no secret that Knysna is incredibly beautiful. From the tranquil lagoon, to the dramatic Heads, and the pristine beaches, there’s no doubt that this ocean-side town is a photographer’s dream. There’s one group of people taking their inspiration from these stunning landscapes and vistas, and putting it to good use– The Knysna Photographic Society.
This regional club brings together all the photography lovers in the Knysna area, professionals and amateurs alike, and gives them the platform to share their passion with others who feel the same way.
Not only do they meet once a month, but they hold regular events and lectures where guest speakers and professional photographers share their knowledge and experiences. There are also various outings and workshops organised throughout the year, and they keep their members well informed with a monthly news letter. Members are encouraged to submit photographs, and are rewarded with monthly competitions.
The Knysna Photographic Society is a space for photographers to teach and learn from one another, and encourage this fantastic hobby and skill in all members of the community. We’ve put together a small photoblog to showcase the breath-taking imagery that is captured through this impressive society.
If you’re in the Knysna area and want to share your love of photography, visit the Knysna Photographic Society.
The Knysna Photographic Society is affiliated to the Photographic society of Southern Africa, and meet every 3rd Wednesday of the month at Belvidere Manor at 18:30. For more information, or to enquire about joining, contact them by visiting their website.
