Calling all DIY enthusiastics, lovers of woodwork and admirers of handmade furniture! Come along and celebrate Knysna’s rich woodwork heritage on the 11th till the 13th of November 2016 at the Knysna Timber Festival.
The event takes place in the Timber Village in Knysna, and no location could be better suited. This rustic haven provides an authentic and unique environment for this special event. Come and peer over craftspeople’s shoulders as they create beautiful pieces, or stock up on the newest tools in the industry. Local furniture makers will be showcasing their impressive talent with a wide range of items on display and for sale.
There are also a number of talks and demonstrations for avid handymen and women to learn a few tricks of the trade. A number of well-known national and international brands will be present, and timber enthusiasts from far and wide will be flocking in to experience the diverse range of products all under one roof. Whether you’re new to this fantastic hobby or you’re well practiced in the art, there’s something for everyone!
There’s also a chance for kids to get involved, with a few woodworking workshops reserved especially for them. Or you can grab some lunch while the little ones entertain themselves at the Kidbuddie play zone.
The Knysna Timber Festival is the brainchild of the Knysna Timber Initiative- who consider Knysna to be the Woodworking Capital of South Africa due to the history of timber in the area.
