The Featherbed Nature Reserve
The Featherbed Nature Reserve is a privately owned reserve and South African Heritage Site, situated on the Western Head of Knysna. This nature reserve is only accessible by ferry, and packages include a 4×4 drive to the top of the Western head, an optional 2km trail through the forest into ancient sea caves, and ends with a lunch underneath the canopy of the Milkwood trees.

Pack a picnic basket and head to Jubilee Creek where tranquil picnic sites are on the banks of a pristine forest stream. A short walk from the picnic site is a cool rock pool where you can swim and cool off. Braai and toilet facilities are also available and Sanparks permit fees apply, unless you have a Wild Card. The picnic site is accessible by car or by hiking trail.
Hit the Beach!
Knysna boasts two beautiful Blue Flag status beaches- Brenton on Sea and Buffalo Bay. At Buffalo Bay you can swim in safety, as lifeguards are on duty in season. Bring your beach blankets, swimsuits and relax in a tropical paradise.
Kayak the Lagoon
Grab a kayak and explore the lagoon with your partner for an adventurous Knysna Valentine’s Day. Kayaking is a great way to experience the lagoon and to build up an appetite too. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen.
