Come one, come all, the Leisure Isle Festival is sure to be fun for all. This year marks the 14th year of the Leisure Isle Festival and we want you to join in and make it the best one yet. Every year the wonderful people of the Leisure Isle Residents Association come together to host one of the most exciting festivals this side of the Garden Route. This year’s craft market has over one hundred stalls displaying the crafts and talents of the people of Knysna and beyond. With a “Buy Local” theme, you can trust that the goods on sale are of an absolutely amazing quality.
Yummy homemade foods, craft beers and tasty treats so good that it’ll make you want to write home about them. Bring family, friends and even your pets too, to this magnificent celebration of art, craft and all-around good vibes. The kids will have a ball of a time on the popular barrel train and super bouncy jumping castle. Some of the highlights of the festival include the lovely doggy walk as well as the very exciting 4km Fun Run. You’ll be spoilt for choice at the Leisure Island Festival this year, so be sure you do not miss out on all the fun.
The festival is organised by the Leisure Isle Residents Association, under the trusted guidance of Niall Johnston, to raise funds for various charities and to create an environment that encourages community spirit and support. This year, the charities which the festival has chosen to support include the Knysna Animal Welfare Society, e’Pap Children Feeding Scheme, Knysna/ Sedgefield Hospice, Steenbok Nature Reserve, Vermont Old Age Home as well as the Hands and Heart Centre – incorporating Emzini. Last year the festival managed to raise over R200 000 and they are determined to completely knock this amount out of the park this year.
