The Knysna Celtic Festival is a full day event, celebrating celtic music, dance and games at venues across Knysna. The day kicks off with a slow-to-quick Street March – the only one of its kind in South Africa. The march is followed by Highland Games and ends off with a concert featuring international artists at sunset. See the full line up for the festival down below.

09h00 to 10h30
The Knysna Celtic Festival kicks off at around 9 o’clock, with a Slow-to-Quick Street March Competition – the only one of its kind in South Africa. The march is followed by a spectacular parade of Massed Pipes & Drums with as many as 100+ pipers, drummers and Highland dancers from across the country. The march and parade take place from Pledge Square to Memorial Square.
11h00 to 15h00
From 11 o’clock, festival-goers can make their way to Loerie Park, where R30.00 entrance fee grants access to watch Highland dancing and games. Watch the Highland Games and Caber Toss, as well as the Highland Dancing Championship, the 3D Archery Tournament and the Eden Tug of War. After the festivities, guests can head into The Bell Beer Garden to quench their thirst and grab a bite to eat.
17h00 to 21h00
The highlight of the day is the annual Sundowners Celtic Concert. The event features renowned international guests, Chris Stout & Catriona McKay from Scotland. Blacksmith from Cape Town, The Knysna Districts Pipe Band and Irish Riverdance will also be performing. There will be great food on offer as well as wine, beer and other refreshments at The Bell Pub.
