The eagerly-anticipated Knysna Oyster Festival will take place from 30 June – 9 July 2023. This family-friendly 10-day festival will feature an array of exciting events in one of the most picturesque towns in South Africa. There is truly something for everyone, from adventurers and sports lovers, to kids of all ages and holidaymakers.
The 2023 Knysna Oyster Festival kicks off with registration for the renowned Knysna Cycle Tour, The 18 Hole Knysna Oyster Festival Par 3 Challenge and the Welcoming The Whales Art Competition on Friday 30 June. Start off the day on the right foot with day 1 of the Knysna Cycle Tour and the Rapid Chess Tournament on Saturday 1 July and then wander over to Turbine Hotel & Spa for the Bubble & Oysters Party in the evening. On Sunday 2 July, it’s day 2 of the Knysna Cycle Tour, the Totties Country Market in Rheenendal, the Young Oysters Crafting Festival and the Sea2Tower Reversed trail running event through the Knysna Forest.
During the week, visitors can look forward to the Knysna Winter Collection Art Exhibition, the Art Walk About, a LivPadel Youth Tournament, the Simola Twilight Forest Trail Run, and much more.
The following weekend, sports lovers will delight in the 2023 Oyster Better Ball Championship at Knysna Golf Club on Friday 7 July, the 38th Knysna Forest Marathon on Saturday 8 July and the Houtkapper Trail Run in Rheenendal on Sunday 9 July. Perfect for wine-aficionados, the Knysna Wine Festival will take place from 7 – 8 July at Premier Resort The Moorings.
